A discussion or conference system is a sound system where each participant in a meeting has their own microphone station (often with an integrated speaker to enhance speech intelligibility). A complete system consists of a chairman’s microphone and several participant stations.

During a meeting, the chairman has total control over the speaking opportunities of participants. The chairman can manage the microphones of the participants and indicate who may speak and when. This helps maintain order in a debate or meeting, ensuring that everyone is clearly audible.

A meeting system can be integrated with a council information system. This makes the meeting simpler and reduces the need for manual actions. Agenda items are displayed on the system, votes can be initiated, and motions are available digitally.

A meeting system can also be expanded with a camera tracking system, making it easy to broadcast meetings within the building or via the internet. The active speaker is automatically displayed. Additionally, names and roles can be shown automatically, or, for example, the results of a vote. These systems comply with privacy regulations.
