Refurbishment

Sustainably extending the lifespan of fixed AV installations

A complete replacement is not always necessary. With refurbishment, we extend the lifespan of fixed audiovisual installations by repairing, replacing or renewing components. This is both cost-conscious and sustainable, with direct CSR impact: less waste, less transport and more reuse of what still functions properly.

Modular maintenance & renewal

AV systems consist of multiple components. By building or preserving installations in a way that allows parts to be replaced individually, the full system does not need to be removed when one component fails or becomes outdated.

Less downtime, more continuity

When installations are part of daily communication, such as meetings, education or signage, recovery time matters. Repairing or replacing specific components can be faster and more predictable than full replacement, especially when the installation is modular.

Diagnostics and component-based solutions

The process starts with identifying which component has failed, what the impact is on use, and what recovery speed is required, for example in critical rooms or peak periods. Where possible, we then choose to repair, replace or renew one or more components so the overall system remains intact.

Testing, safeguarding and documentation

After replacement or repair, the installation is tested for performance and stability to ensure it remains demonstrably fit for use. Where relevant, settings and configurations are secured again for consistent daily use.

CSR and sustainability in practice

Less replacement, more reuse and a longer lifespan for installations. In addition, reducing external logistics can contribute to fewer transport movements and a lower ecological footprint.

Lifecycle management and scalable management strategy

Choices are made based on reliability, risk, availability and future readiness. This creates a scalable management strategy that grows with changing use.

Advice on Refurbishment

Refurbishment works best when component replacement, repair and renewal are part of a broader management and lifecycle approach. We advise on a working method that fits the environment, continuity requirements and CSR objectives.

Benefits of Refurbishment

Lower replacement costs

By renewing only individual components, the total investment often remains limited.

Less downtime

Faster recovery through targeted repair or replacement of a single component.

Sustainable management

Less waste and less new production through reuse of what still functions well.

Longer lifespan of installations

Installations remain usable for longer without full replacement.
