World Trade Center Rotterdam received a new audiovisual installation where information, experience and orientation come together. Heuvelman delivered a large-scale LED and narrowcasting solution that matches the iconic character of the building and provides tenants and visitors with up-to-date, relevant information on a daily basis.
For the renewal of WTC Rotterdam, Heuvelman and Prisma IT were selected as the audiovisual specialists. In the Main Hall, an impressive 4K narrowcasting LED screen measuring no less than 13.5 metres wide was installed, built from 252 individual LED panels. This screen serves as a central eye-catcher and provides space for news, public transport information, wayfinding and WTC-related communication, without detracting from the building’s monumental architecture.
Throughout the building, additional sustainable LED screens have been installed. In the lift lobbies, digital wayfinding supports visitors in finding their way through the building, while two extra-wide stretch displays have been mounted above the escalators on the first floor. At the entrance to the car park, a large LED screen welcomes visitors and displays real-time information about available parking spaces.
When selecting LED technology, a conscious choice was made for sustainability and future-proofing. The screens are energy-efficient, have a long lifespan and require relatively little maintenance. In this way, the audiovisual installation contributes not only to comfort and communication, but also to the efficient and sustainable operation of WTC Rotterdam.
