New building with sound and evacuation system for Eindhoven swimming pool

For years, the Tongelreep has been one of the most successful international swimming centers. Swimmers, including world champions and Olympic medalists, come to the Eindhoven pool for top competitions. During such events, it is of great importance that sound and evacuation systems work well.

Heuvelman has previously been able to equip the Pieter van den Hoogenband swimming pool with a fixed sound system. A swimming pool is not the easiest location for a well-functioning installation: several components must be taken into account: chlorine fumes, the echoing of the space, and reaching both the audience in the stands and the swimmer in the water.

New construction in 2025

At the beginning of 2023, the Eindhoven city council gave the green light for the construction of a new Tongelreep. Meanwhile, the first phase of the renovation has been completed, and the new instruction pool, 25-meter pool, and sports pool have been put into use. Together with NSC Beveiligingstechniek B.V., we have been able to install a unique sound and evacuation system.

With the help of a large crane, the server rack was brought from the Heuvelman truck to the server room for installation. Additionally, the new sound system has been hung and installed in these three swimming pools. In phase two of this project, two more new swimming pools will be realized.
