Support Casper Gala

A gala with an impressive AV setup

“It will be an experience for all of us once again. Especially because we will be gathering in large numbers for the first time since the coronavirus pandemic. Support Casper | Foundation Surviving Pancreatic Cancer has been able to make enormous strides in the research for an innovative treatment of pancreatic cancer over the past five years. This evening, you will of course be taken through these developments and given a glimpse into the future.
And then there is the fantastic lineup of artists to provide you with an unforgettable experience in terms of entertainment as well.”, written by the organizers prior to the gala.

"It promises to be a spectacular evening!"

Support Casper

Great progress has been made in cancer treatment, but pancreatic cancer is still a death sentence. The prospects for the approximately 3,000 patients annually are poor, and the chances of survival are slim. Prof. Dr. Casper van Eijck, a specialist at Erasmus MC for thirty years, has made it his mission to find a treatment for the disease. Since 2015, the Foundation Surviving Pancreatic Cancer has been running the 'Support Casper' campaign to finance Van Eijck's groundbreaking research and raise more awareness for the disease. The goal is to provide an affordable treatment for every patient by 2030 at the latest. Meanwhile, about twenty scientists are working hard at the expense of the Foundation to find a treatment method. And with results: viro-immunotherapy seems promising. See also www.supportcasper.nl.

On Saturday evening, October 9, an overwhelming amount of €1,197,960.00 was raised during the gala!

Lustrum Gala

In addition to great performances by, among others, Berget Lewis and Rolf Sanchez, there were also moving stories from patients to be heard this evening. As a special auction item, one patient even brought in a vintage Mercedes, which provided a great boost to the total amount raised. The team of researchers also made a big impression during the auction, standing on stage in lab coats to illustrate lot 19: 'Help the research further with a new analyst'. They spoke through Professor Hoeben from LUMC about the necessity of donating to this lot, which the audience then did en masse.

Complete unburdening

Heuvelman was allowed to support this gala, with its wonderful goal, in the audiovisual field. Money was raised through an auction. Of course, an auctioneer was needed for this, who stood behind a lectern with a microphone. In addition, several microphones were assigned to speakers who were clearly and audibly heard through the hotel's speakers.
Of course, the gala was recorded from start to finish by a camera direction with 3 fixed camera positions in the room and 1 flexible camera to capture spontaneous images from the audience.

Various artists and dance acts made use of the 16 by 5 meter stage. They were highlighted by the fixed lighting installation and were followed by spotlights as needed when they walked into the audience.

But the most impressive piece of technology was the 18 by 5 meter projection wall. Content was shown along the entire length using 3 large video projectors of 20,000 Ansi Lumens in HD quality. Our colleagues from the content department contributed to the production of videos, logos, and live camera images that were shown on the large screen.
