Audiovisual technology from A to Z

AFAS Software is a Dutch family business with a focus on its customers and inspiring entrepreneurs and its own employees. The very fitting motto of this progressive company is "inspires better entrepreneurship." Due to the enormous growth that AFAS is experiencing, there was a need for more space for both employees and the company's customers and visitors. This immediately presented a unique opportunity to build a new building, which now not only serves as office space but also offers a special experience to everyone who visits the building.
Heuvelman is proud to be the audiovisual partner of such a special organization and that all disciplines could be represented.

Audiovisual technology from A to Z

The new building on Inspiratielaan in Leusden is not just a workplace; it is an Experience Center. To meet the expectations that this name evokes, the building had to be fully functionally equipped in terms of audiovisual aspects. Only 20% of the building is intended for employees and workplaces; the rest of the building consists of a demo room, sports complex, event location, restaurant, indoor garden, atrium, and auditoriums where AFAS receives, connects, and inspires its customers and relations.

Heuvelman has facilitated all audiovisual technology in "the clubhouse" from A to Z. In the spacious reception hall, Heuvelman has installed Digital Signage screens. The space is also equipped with an interactive map and beacons. Speakers and a LED screen have been placed at the outdoor sports areas to keep track of any scores. Permanent installations, including audio and video, have been placed in the meeting rooms in the building. In the restaurant area, which can accommodate 700 people, a curved LED screen has been installed, and there are plug-in points for chargers. All in all, the entire building is equipped with the most up-to-date technology to provide the ultimate experience for colleagues, guests, and visitors.

Atrium

In the Atrium, two LED screens have been installed. Each LED screen consists of 25 Samsung IF025R LED modules with a pixel pitch of 2.5 mm. The dimensions of the installed LED screens are 480 x 270 cm. In combination with the Full HD resolution, the LED screens fully blend into the space.

The Atrium is an acoustically challenging space with a lot of glass and hard materials. To ensure good sound coverage and excellent speech intelligibility, two Beam Steering speakers from the brand Fohhn (type Focus modular, 2x mid-low DFM-400 and 1x top module DFM-100) were installed per side and on both sides of the LED screens.

For the low tones, a pair of Fohhn PS-850 speakers are built into the stage. The Fohhn PS-850 speaker is a powerful and flexible dual 18-inch subwoofer from this series.

For the bar area, we chose Fohhn Airea speakers. When the main system is not in use, these compact speakers with built-in DSP ensure that a pleasant clear sound is heard around the bar.

Thanks to the Beam Steering technology, this space has become acoustically perfect for presentations and events or parties.

The eye-catcher: AFAS Theater

AFAS Experience Center offers more than just a headquarters. There is a complete, professional theater building with over 800 seats for its own presentations, meetings, and long-running theater productions. The theater will open its doors in 2021 and will be put into use immediately. Inside the large glass dome, which stands out well on the outside of the building, is the theater with a grandstand on the ground floor and a balcony with seating.

The work in the theater is already well advanced. All speakers and microphones for the Vivace room acoustics system have been installed, and the stage fields on the stage and in the control room have been assembled and tested. Last week, we started hanging the PA system, Fohhn Focus Venue Beam steering speakers including Fohhn Sub arrays.

Fixed Solutions for AFAS

Heuvelman is not only responsible for the fixed installations in the new building but also for audiovisual support during events. Heuvelman has already been able to act during the AFAS Succestival, a free knowledge festival for AFAS administrators. And also for the third King Willem I Lecture and the King Willem I dinner. This last event took place in the new building of AFAS, which was still under construction at the time. The challenge was to transform the construction site into a star location together with AFAS.
