What once started with simply stacking TVs has developed into a technologically advanced product. In addition to the excellent image quality with Full HD or even 4K resolutions, the screens with thin bezels can be almost seamlessly connected. The screens are energy-efficient and fully professional, meaning you can use the screen 24/7 with peace of mind.

Over the years, displays have become larger. We regularly install displays of 82 inches (208 cm) or larger. For even larger screens, Heuvelman uses various videowall solutions consisting of LCD displays or LED tiles.

A videowall is an installation of multiple screens. These screens have a (very) thin bezel, allowing the screens to seamlessly connect and form a whole of one screen.

If you are looking for a large video screen for indoor or outdoor use, a videowall offers a solution. Depending on the placement (indoor or outdoor), viewing distance, and the size of the image, you can choose a videowall consisting of LED monitors or a videowall consisting of LED tiles.

If a large screen is placed outdoors, you will end up with a videowall with LED tiles. If you want to place a large screen indoors, you can choose either type of screen.

LCD videowall

A videowall with monitors is an excellent indoor solution for creating a large video image. By using multiple LED or LCD monitors, placed side by side or overlapping, one large video screen is formed.

The monitors used have very thin, barely visible bezels. A videowall offers many possibilities in creating a video image in any desired size, combined with a very sharp image. Especially in situations where you are relatively close to the screen, this videowall is the right choice.

In addition to the high quality (full HD, 4K, or even higher resolutions), the screens are energy-efficient, meaning the screens can be used 24/7.

The LCD videowall is available in various sizes. They are often built from screens of 46, 47, 49, or 55 inches.

• Is the screen placed indoors or outdoors?
• Desired size and available space
• From what distance does the audience view (sharpness and light intensity)?
• What will you display on the videowall
• Are (thin) bezels acceptable on a videowall?
• What is the budget?

LED videowall

The videowall with LED tiles is on the rise and will increasingly replace the videowall with monitors. The LED tiles in a videowall are equipped with small, so-called LED pixels. Small LED lights. These LED lights together form the large LED screen. Advantages of a videowall with LED tiles are that there are no seams running through the image and that the brightness is very high, making a videowall with LED tiles also well visible outdoors and in a lot of daylight. Therefore, the use of a videowall with LED is very suitable for outdoor applications.

What is Pixel Pitch

The distance (in mm) between the individual LED lights is indicated by pixel pitch. Screens suitable for outdoor applications have a pixel pitch between 20 mm and 6 mm. Screens suitable for indoor applications have a pixel pitch between 6 mm and 1 mm.

The smaller the pixel pitch, the closer you can stand to the screen. Roughly, the viewing distance of a videowall with LED tiles is one and a half times the pixel pitch in meters. So with a pixel pitch of 2 mm, the minimum viewing distance is about 3 meters. Based on the pixel pitch, you can also calculate the final resolution of a screen. For a screen three meters wide by two meters high and a pixel pitch of 3 mm, the resolution is approximately 1000 x 666.
