Official opening of completely renovated provincial house

Over the past two years, the provincial house of South Holland has been completely renovated, with sustainability of the building in mind. The result is an energy-neutral building ready for the future!

On September 14, the (re)opening of the provincial house took place. The King officially reopened the main building and received a tour with an explanation of the renovation.

Opening event

The show began with a beautiful opening dance accompanied by a film on the LED video wall we installed, including music. After this, we went back in time; a historical timeline was shown across the entire LED video wall.

A beautiful orchestra and a singer emerged from the audience with a song about the changing world. Our colleagues ensured an excellent show by perfectly coordinating the LED video wall, light, and sound. The architect of the provincial house also gave a presentation about his design. He talked about the details of the sustainable design of the provincial house.

After the presentation, it was time for the official opening by our King. With a beautifully crafted visual on the LED video wall, this opening was further enhanced. The opening began in the time when Queen Juliana opened the provincial house in 1975, to Princess Beatrix in 1998, up to now. A "hand scanner" appeared where the King could officially open the building. As soon as the hand was fully scanned, a new visual with animation started, enhanced by audio and a light show. The provincial house of South Holland is officially opened!

AV partner Heuvelman

Heuvelman played a major role in this project, as mentioned earlier, we were the partner in the field of audiovisual installation during the renovation. We were also responsible for the audiovisual content during the official opening. What did we provide during the opening?

The content on the LED video wall was created by our colleagues from the Heuvelman Content & Design department and was started and switched at the right moment using a Watchout media server. Additional lighting was installed to highlight the animations on the LED video wall and shows in the right way, but also the various spaces where the tour went through were provided with extra lighting. The camera registration, including the video stream and the replay of the video stream, was also provided by our colleagues. Lastly, various spaces were equipped with video screens with content.
